A global superstar and an all-around icon, Ram Charan and his wife, Upasana Konidela recently welcomed a daughter into this world. The new parents are enjoying their time with their young child, which has elated the fans. But along with the birth of the baby, another aspect related to this incident has become the buzz of the town.

Ram Charan and Upasana spent days and left no stone unturned to design a stunning birthing suite at the Apollo Hospital with the help of reputed architect and designer Pavitra Rajaram. This 1200 sq. ft birthing suite has become a rage with interior decorators. It combines modern aesthetics and sensibilities but is deeply rooted in Indian culture and traditions, including Vedic and Buddhist cultures. If you, too, would like to have a room inspired by this birthing suite, read on for tips, ideas, and suggestions.

Shades of White

As mentioned earlier, the couple and Pavitra drew inspiration from various Indian sources, including the Vedas. Pavitra was inspired by the five white shades of white mentioned in the Vedas that stand for serenity, peace, and purity.

These shades include pearly white, silver, tonal whites, white of pure conch, the white of jasmine flowers, and the white of waves on a full-moon night. All these whites were combined to create stunning shades, which provided the suite with a monochromatic and elegant look. It felt peaceful and calm, two emotions that are highly necessary for any expecting mother. White is often used in clinics but in an extremely sterile and inorganic way, but here it evokes emotions and love.

You can use whites of different shades in your bedroom to make it feel more homely. A quick way to add white to your bedroom is by using decadent white wallpaper. The wallpaper can have extensive floral design in white or silvery shades on a backdrop of muddy white. This will add a natural touch to your bedroom. You can also incorporate white tiles- wall and floor for a similar effect.

While the different shades of white are good enough, the designer accentuated the shades with various earthen shades. Shades such as beige, light brown, cream, and ochre bring out the beauty of white and make it look even better. You can choose beige-shaded sheets and curtains in your bedroom to go with your white floors and walls. If you do not like pure white tiles, try Beige wall tiles to achieve a similar effect. You can also add beige carpets for visual interest.

Buddhist Art

One of the most appealing parts of the room was its Buddhist art. Ancient Buddhist art uses various floral motifs inspired by daily life. If you would also like to give a similar effect in your room, try Floral motifs in the form of curtains, wallpapers, and tiles. Floral motifs in the form of floor tiles go with any aesthetics. If you want a more trendy look, you can incorporate Buddhist figurines such as Gautama Buddha, Laughing Buddha, etc.

Wooden Floors and Jute

Upasana’s birthing suite has different kinds of flooring, but one that stands out is the simple but elegant-looking wooden plank floor. Wooden planks are a classic flooring option that looks and feels good. High-quality wooden planks can be extremely expensive and are quite difficult to clean and maintain. If you would like to have floors inspired by wooden planks, you can always choose plank tiles that look and feel the same as wood.

Unlike real wood, plank tiles are made of ceramic and are long-lasting, easier to clean, and easier to maintain. Pavitra used jute carpets to accentuate the wooden flooring; you, too, can choose jute mats or carpets for a similar effect.

Fabulous Furniture

Every bedroom is complete with the proper furniture. A bedroom should ideally have a bed, a bedside table, a couple of chairs, and a chaise lounger and ottomans. The kind and amount of furniture you have in your bedroom depends on the size of your room. But you can still work with whatever furniture you have and redesign them. The theme of earthy tones and white can be continued over to furniture. You can also add elegant pieces in white and brownish shades to add a punch to your space. You can enhance the look of your furniture with stark white sheets and pillowcases.

Lights and Fixtures

A bedroom is where a person relaxes and sleeps, so avoiding sharp and excessively bright lights here is recommended. Investing in a dimmer to dim the lights when needed can be a great option. You can also add lamp shades made of jute and similar earthy-toned materials to have lights inspired by Upasana’s birthing suite.

The use of natural lights was another factor that made the room so homely and cosy. The suite had large windows allowing for free passage of sunlight.

Ram Charan is a private person and enjoys spending time with his family. No wonder he paid so much attention to every tiny detail to welcome his child into the world. The design aesthetics of the suite are classic and will be in vogue for a long time.
